Blue Hanger 30yo 45.6%alc.
New in to the shop today is a wonderful vatted (blended) malt, Blue Hanger 30yo.3rd of the new individual vattings by one of the industry's great noses, Sir Douglas McIvor and well up to the best of his pickings.
Like Doug this whisky has a big oily nose and a faint whiff of spent matches, beguilingly fruity and very engaging.
To taste he is well balanced, slightly hot with a fruity-acetone swallow and a long oaky finish (that last bits not like Doug).
Ace chap and ace whisky.
