Dailuaine

Deriving from the Gaelic ‘An dail uaine’ meaning ‘green valley,’ the Dailuaine Distillery lies in the Spey valley, amid the flowing green hills of Speyside. It was founded in 1852 by William MacKenzie, and some years later, it became part of Dailuaine-Talisker Distilleries Ltd, which included Imperial and Talisker brands. It was one of the first distilleries to be fitted with the famous pagoda style roof that are now seen on most Scottish Distilleries. Official Dailuaine single malt bottlings are rare, given that 98% of the spirit distilled here goes into Diageo blends such as Johnnie Walker.
