Not a single malt but a mix of four smoky-peaty whiskies from Islay (and so termed ‘blended malt’). Inverarity Islay fills the peaty-whisky section of the malt whisky flavour spectrum with the least expensive yet delicious bottle of Islay malt that we have.

Created for Islay fans there is a very emphatic phenolic and medicinal character - peat and iodine - classic Islay qualities; a good oiliness, powerful flavours yet also a breeze of fresh air, brace yourself for an ace!

Another ace from Ardbeg. A 'cask' strength offering of 10yo with older sherry-matured ages.

But for a slight whiff of feints in the nose, this is a dram with good, heavy levels of peat throughout the session. There is restrained sherry notes and plenty of salty ginger.

Very good with a lingering smokey finish.

The first time I had Caol Ila was at the distillery, (long ago), I then drove back across the island, abandoned the hire car and then cycled 12 miles back to Bowmore. After the first pint (at the Lochside), I returned to the bar for another and could still taste the Caol Ila!

Oily, Islay with a very long finish!

This new bottling is most similar to the old 15yo OB-d 'Fauna & Flora' expression. Of the three new OB releases this is the most pungent with a taste including rubber, briny fishing nets and smoky bonfires.

Distillers Editions are single malt whiskies that have been taken from traditional whisky casks and transferred to a second type of cask for further maturation.

This Clynelish has been finished in an ex-olorosso seco sherry cask which has added rich, peppery flavours of spice, liquorice and cloves.

Laphroaig OB 18yo 48%alc.

Replaces the 15yo which Bill Bergius advised me was Laphroaig for people who don’t like Laphroaig, however this will please everyone.

A soft nose, the nectar of peat-fed honey bees (I like that). Oooop! on the tongue medicinal Laphroaig, mellowness that fades to a full Lappy-doo-dah swallow, throughout there are old favourite notes and some interesting new ones. An ace for all. Limited to two bottles per customer.
