The expected yet unexpected surprising surprise in this year's batch of Special Releases from big-boys Diageo. American oak ex-sherry casks and less than 6,000 bottles to share with you lot.

Dark and sherry-stylish, the aroma is true to form, old oak and older tea-caddies, over-ripe fruits, satisfying all expectation. Once past the gums it is dry first, fruity next and then oaky-rich, spicy with a nutty swallow. The finish is buttery with must and a remnant of clove-balls after the swallow.

Ace for dark sherry-style fans.
