| Ballechin #3 (peated Edradour) OB 46%alc.
Third release of Edradour's peaty Discovery Series this time entirely matured in a port cask. The first two have sold extremely well in the shop after a taste by virtue of their extreme peat flavours. My notes: Like walking into Halford's. (Eh?). Yep, a smell of fresh bike tyres, then inner tubes and French chalk (scuse me?). Coal smoke, some treacle and then with time very fruity. To taste it is very quiet and well balanced, smooth with a peaty inhale and peat that coats the walls of the mouth. Not quite as peaty-powerful as the previous two but bound to be a good seller. On the Malt Whisky Flavour map it would go at the top of C9 Light / Smoky

| Edradour OB 10yo 40%alc.
This re-modelled Edradour has been influenced by an increased sherry wood content, much of the enchanting creamy pepermintiness remains and is a very enjoyable dram. Well suited for sherrywood matured fans.

| Edradour OB Decanter 1994 14yo 55.8%alc.
Single sherry cask bottling of Edradour from the new owner. Nice decanter style bottle, sherry-rich oaky tea-caddys, sweet and floral with a nice bass note. Strong, round and powerful with a pleasant perfume (parma violets and lavender). Water reveals a little smoke and confirms a suspicion of some must. Very good and with that presentation ideal for lurking on the sideboard waiting for the cigars (my boy).

| Ballechin #1 (peated Edradour) OB 46%alc.
Immediately after Edradour changed hands, Mr Symington and Mr. Henderson made heavily peated whisky, now called Ballechin, so I suspect this is pretty young, I know it is pretty expensive. This is the first release of a series of Ballechins, (Ballechi?) each one matured in a different wine cask, Burgundy to begin with and limited to 6,000 bottles, many more to 'collect'.

| Ballechin #2 (peated Edradour) OB 46%alc.
The second limited (6,000) release of Edradour's heavily peated variant, this time entirely matured in a Maderia cask presumably for 5 years (don't let the age put you off). The first edition has been very well received on tasting and this has more of what the first had. More peat, more complexity and more sweetness, a huge mouthfeel. Those who appreciated the younger Ardbegs will be impressed. Added to LFW.CO.UK 30-JULY-2007
