Formerly known as Havana Reserve, then Gran Reserva but now just states Caribbean rum cask finishing.
Another offering from the Good -Grief! Finishes Department.
No, it hasn't been swilling about in a cigar humidor for a week but is a Cuban Rum cask finish.
Haven't tried it yet but the gushing tasting notes include figs, leather, peppery, touch of smoke, oak, ginger and spicy.
Perhaps it has been in a humidor after all...
Actually I found it to be bigger than the other Glenfiddichs, but still Glenfiddich. Smokey tobacco (there's the power of suggestion for you) tasty and mouth filling. Still got bananas though.
[Blind tasting note from RJ during the SFWC:Varnish, waxed-wood, mahogany tea caddies, sawn ginger and nutmeg dust. Some glycerine but a little sluggish on the nose. One the tongue, neat is a dainty elephant, nice swallow. Water gives good vyscimetry but it becomes one dimensional, mouldy, over aged. Nice though.
