Soft Talisker with strong pepper notes, then some estery solvent.

Round, mellow and Talisker. Taste affirms this true Talisker character settling on the bitter and sweet, then sour buds.

Water softens the pepper initially but it flows back to give an equally pleasurable sensation.

An ace, well worthwhile.

Distillers Editions are single malt whiskies that have been taken from traditional whisky casks and transferred to a second type of cask for further maturation. This Talisker has been transferred to an ex-Amoroso sherry cask to become more tarry and less peppery.

Not necessarily better - but different and well worthwhile.

The T10 was my first love, now I'm besotted by a more mature honey. Sensational!

I tried this over a briny weekend afloat a while ago and thought I preferred the 10 for it's uncompromising power but now, tucked up ashore, this is my new, more mellow, sweetheart. Ace.

A new, cask strength, American Oak matured Talisker - and a belter!

Neat, there is closed and menacing power. Legs that have no respect for gravity. That talisker peppered-oak lies under all this with a small pod of vanilla...

Tasted, still neat, there is typical Talisker spice, smoke, peat and a hot woodiness that makes your ears bulge, then coolness, then heat again.

Add some water.

Clean Talisker, sweet, aromatic..

All tongue coating, well balanced, warming, good swallow with a finish that rests on the back of the tongue with occasional forays to give sweetness at the tip too. If the 10 and 18yo are aces then this definitely is!

Consider a symphonic version of Won't Get Fooled Again - still with Moon at the helm. An intriguing musty and naphtha vapour remains in the mouth.
