This single malt comes from a single cask, carefully selected by the very experts who make it to represent this fine malt whisky in its most individual expression. The Managers’ Choice is the original distillers’ first single cask collection. The Managers’ Choice Single Cask Selection is a collection of single casks from each of Diageo's 27 distilleries in active production. Diageo are releasing these 27 casks in 4 phases during 2009/10. Due to the nature of a single cask bottling only approximately 400 bottles are available from each cask. These will only be sold in UK, Switzerland, Germany & Benelux. At Blair Athol Distillery on the 17th February 2009, the casks for The Managers’ Choice were carefully selected by Distillery Managers and Sensory experts. A selection of casks were nosed and tasted blind. Each expression was chosen for its quality, unique flavour and distillery character. 500 years of knowledge and experience went into this careful selection process and the fruition of The Managers’ Choice Single Cask Selection What differs The Managers’ Choice – Single Cask Selection from the regular expression? The highest bottling is Auchroisk at 642 bottles. You may well be asking where Dufftown is - and so are we. Only 26 of the 27 whiskies have been announced, however we have been assured Dufftown will be included but we are not sure with which release at this stage. It will be a 1997 distillation bottled 2009 at 59.5% abv.
