The Legend of LFW, part III Continued from here (and starts here)
We thought there must be dozens of whisky shops in Scotland in 1993, no, yellow pages confessed to just two. The Cairngorm Whisky Centre in Aviemore and "The Whisky Shop" in Glasgow and Edinburgh. A visit to Glasgow found a boarded up shop and a neighbouring shop that confirmed that they had 'gone bust', ouch!
Not a good omen for our new venture...

APRIL FOOLS THAT WE ARE...
Today may as well be the day we start increasing prices, OB bottlings initially, independents over the next few days.
We have Chancellor Darling's increase (that turns into 70-80p per 40% bottle). We also note many producers are using the opportunity to increase their prices as well, allegedly (potential) demand in China is putting a strain on stocks, what nonsense!
Even our own Loch Fyne and Loch Fyne Liqueur are about to suffer increased production costs.
Simple advice is drink better and appreciate more.
SO, BY WAY OF COMPENSATION, we have reduced the UK shipping charge from ?7.50 to ?5.00, for April only which is otherwise a dull month for mail order trade, thanks to Mr. Darling for his contribution to that.
