Due end of March:
The ‘Spring 2011 Release’ of Kilchoman will be released 28th March.
This bottling is a vatting of 70% 3 year old in first fill bourbon barrels and 30% 4 year old in first fill bourbon barrels.
The 4 year old has been finished in oloroso sherry butts for five weeks.
Other Releases in 2011
100% Islay – from barley grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery.
A limited release will be available in June at 50%alc/vol
Sherry Cask Matured – 4.5 years old with full maturation in oloroso sherry butts.
A limited release will be available in September.
5 years old – matured in first and refill bourbon barrels.
A limited release will be available in November.
Companions to the Gordon & Macphail 1940 Glenlivet 70 years old.
The second bottling in G&M’s Generations range is a Glenlivet distilled in February 1940 and matured for 70 years in a first fill Sherry butt.
Expected to be available late March 2011 with a RRP £13000 for the 70cl and £3200 for the 20cl version.
When we list it we will have Richard’s tasting notes from the launch.
Due for retail release September 2011 as a new edition to their standard range. A Committee bottling is also expected prior to this presumably in different packaging as per previous releases.
Matured in heavily re-charred casks.
A new extremely limited 1981 vintage Glenmorangie Pride in a 1 litre decanter due in April.
Matured for 18 years in bourbon cask then a further 10 years in an Chateau d’Yquem Sauternes cask.
